Our Beef
Our beef is Black Angus from old line foundation stock. Beef production in the last two decades has gradually moved to ever larger animals producing live weights in the 1600 and plus class. This is great for commercial packers but has some distinct disadvantages for the consumer who wishes to buy beef direct and not from a supermarket retailer. Primarily, the smaller 1000-1200 lb Angus we raise have less waste from trimming of fat while maintaining excellent marbling qualities. Our finishing diet is heavy in small grains (oats) and ground ear corn. Hay is provided free choice. No growth hormones, no implants, no antibiotics, just good old-fashioned home raised feed and attentive care for the well-being of our animals.

The average carcass hangs out at about 600 lbs which will yield around 420 lbs of meat in the freezer for a whole animal. You are assured top quality from the hamburger to the t-bone steaks. Yes, even the pot-roast is great!

All of our beef is slaughtered humanely in a state-inspected plant with an inspector present. The meat is aged for 10 days and then processed in a certified facility. All meats are custom cut per order and double wrapped for the freezer.
